Carer's Steering Group

As a user-led organisation and the providers of the Compass Carers' service, Compass Disability Services value service users as the experts on their own lives and recognise the breadth of knowledge and experience they carry.  We also have a commitment to ensuring that in all service delivery planning, the organisation’s plans, aims and proposed outcomes are based on the needs of users and other stakeholders.

Compass Carers steering group is comprised of current and former voluntary carers from all parts of the County, (one carer representative from each of the nine GP Federation areas) who give their experience freely to monitor and develop the Compass Carers’ Service, and steer the direction of the service to meet the support needs of carers across the county.  The meetings of the steering group are held, at present, on a monthly basis where they discuss service issues with members of the Compass Carers staff including the management and senior team members.

Two carers from the steering group are nominated to sit as Trustees on the Compass Disability Service Board to enable the Trustees to maintain an overview of the work of the organisation.
